Dwarfs – BUT THEY’RE IN SPACE
on November 7, 2011 at 10:43 amTommie has had the enviable privilege of defining the look of the first Forge Fathers. His beautiful crisp blue and gold scheme will be on boxes of miniatures all around the world. This chap will be in the 2011 CoolMiniOrNot Annual. Tommie was so infectiously enthusiastic about the way this paintjob came out neither he nor I could go to sleep – so we giddily stayed up until about 6am drinking whisky and staring at the glinting blue panels.

Now with Forge Fathers starting to trickle into the hands of hobbyists ahead of release the hot topic is alternative colour schemes. Over the weekend I put together some test models so I can experiment with different colour schemes. I got carried away and mixed in Kings of War pieces, but carefully maintainted the scifi vibe by adding goggles. Even to the doggie.

Then I molested photographs of Tommie’s Stormrage Veterans to produce 25 different schemes, which I’ve narrowed down to four I might like to try.
The Ctesias Well Federation
A retro scifi orange scheme reminiscent of the Transformer deity Unicron. For a time they considered sparing your wretched little planet. But now, you shall witness … its DISMEMBERMENT.

The Sax-Koburg Alliance
A Victorian industrialist vibe runs through these Fathers with their almost British Racing Green mixed with a subtle sterling metal, set off with rich orange detailing. Sounds like I’m describing wine. I’m getting hints of Salamander, fiery textures…

The Khorasan Fire Brotherhood
A dark metallic scheme that oozes threat. Are these the good guys?

The Dar-Kuprus Magma Fellowship
Not to be confused with the Perry Bible Fellowship.

Maybe these guys will appear at this Saturday’s Warpath Release Party.
Which one do you like best? Leave a comment below.

I like the Perry Bib….I mean, Dar-Kuprus Magma Fellowship one best.
Thanks Hayley! They’re the most popular on Twitter now.
Hi! I just found your blog and webcomic the day before yesterday and I must say I’ve been enjoying it immensely. I thought you’d like to know :D
Also; Sax-Koburg Alliance. But that might just be because I painted my dwarfs green.
Thanks Tori!
